Start with the route, not a shopping list
Your nationality and the procedure you choose change the evidence required. Read the official checklist for that route before ordering certificates. A family application may need separate records for each person.
Map where your records come from
List your countries of residence, the issuing country for each civil-status record, and any name differences. Confirm which national criminal records the procedure asks for and whether minor applicants have different requirements.
Confirm apostilles and translations
Ask which documents require apostille or legalization, whether an exemption applies, and what translation format is accepted. Confirm the sequence before paying to translate a document that still needs certification.
Leave room for the in-country steps
Some requirements involve Uruguayan health, vaccination, notarial or identity-document processes. A folder assembled abroad may be only part of the application.
Prepare securely
Use your initial inquiry to explain your situation. Do not email or upload passports, police certificates, medical records or financial statements until an appropriate document-sharing method has been agreed.
